राजकीय पॉलिटेक्निक बरगढ़, चित्रकूट की स्थापना 2013 में निदेशक प्राविधिक शिक्षा उ0प्र0 के आदेश सं0 831-33/ई-प्लान-भवन(के0स0) दिनांक 20/10/2009 के द्वारा केन्द्रीय सहायता से जनपद चित्रकूट हुयी ǀ जिलाधिकारी चित्रकूट महोदय के आदेश संख्या आदेश सं0 1896/भूमि0व्य0-पुर्नग्रहण/ 2009-10 दिनांक 16 मार्च 2010 के द्वारा 4.445 हेक्टेयर भूमि राजकीय पालीटेक्निक बरगढ की स्थापना हेतु उपलब्ध करायी गयी। संस्था का मुख्य एवं कर्मशाला भवन दिनांक 13/02/2014 तथा आवास एवं छात्रावास दिनांक 30/06/2015 को निर्माण इकाई के द्वारा हस्तानान्तरित की गयी। संस्थान का हरा-भरा-स्वच्छ कैम्पस लगभग 10 एकड़ में फैला हुआ है ǀ

संस्थान के समस्त पाठ्यक्रम अखिल भारतीय तकनीकी शिक्षा परिषद्, नई दिल्ली (AICTE, New Delhi) द्वारा अनुमोदित तथा प्राविधिक शिक्षा परिषद् उ०प्र० लखनऊ (BTEUP) से सम्बद्ध हैं ǀ
